Programs

Monte Vista Presbyterian Preschool offers play-based learning opportunities for children 2 to 5 years old. We offer Half Day (8:30am-12pm) and School Day (8:00am-3:00pm) programs.

Two’s (age 2 upon enrollment): Our youngest class serves children ages Two years upon enrollment. This class strives in providing the best first school experience and learning socialization. In this class, children are learning through play such as cause-and-effect, problem-solving, eye-hand coordination, language, and independence. We teach this through games, stories, music, and sensory activities. Children are also exposed to a letter,  color, shape, and number each month. The two-year-old classroom provides a program that is suited to help each child learn at their own pace. The teacher also supports and encourages potty training during school hours. A has $75 monthly changing fee will be applied if needed. You may choose 2 days (T/TH), 3 days (M/W/F), or a 5 day (M-F) program based on availability.

Preschool age 3: Our 3-year-old class is learning through play by supporting children’s social and emotional development, language and literacy, cognition, and physical development. The classroom is filled with developmentally and age-appropriate materials and activities. Our curriculum is thoughtfully planned out by following weekly themes while learning a letter, shape, number, and color. The three-year-old class focuses on building vocabulary, problem-solving, letters, numbers, coloring, writing, painting, cutting, and gluing while in large/small groups. Children are encouraged to take care of classroom belongings, help others, and try new things in a safe learning environment. You may choose 2 days (T/Th), 3 days (M/W/F), or 5 day (M-F) program based on availability.

Preschool age 4: Our 4-year-old class is learning through play by supporting children’s social and emotional development, language and literacy cognition, and physical development. This class focuses on school readiness skills through group time instruction, playful activities, and following a schedule. Children are introduced to more advanced learning and organized skill-building. A typical day in the four-year-old classroom involves music, art, science, reading, and math activities. The class promotes problem-solving skills, teamwork, and creativity. You may choose 2 days (T/Th), 3 days (M/W/F), or a 5 day (M-F) program based on availability.

Kindergarten readiness: Similar to TK, our Kindergarten Readiness class focuses on reading and writing skills. They learn number sense and incorporates more STEM learning. This class will fully prepare your child for kindergarten. Our Owl class is Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
